Following the success of the USB memory stick wristbands sold at the 3 Hackney concerts in June 2008, the company behind them were commissioned to sell similar recordings of the band's performance at Newmarket in July that year. Regretably the recording equipment failed, the gig was lost and dozens of fans had to be refunded. The contract with the company responsible  was terminated and the several hundred USB wristbands that had been produced for Newmarket were destroyed...that is except a tiny handful (probably less than 10) and this is one of them. It includes a USB memory stick but it is blank as nothing was recorded of the show. As a rare collectors item you may want to keep it blank or perhaps add to it some tracks of your choice.

Madness headlined this very high profile July 1982 concert for Prince Charles, it was that period of spring/summer 1982 that was perhaps the pinnacle of their 1980s career with a chart topping single and album.

As well as being a rare collector's item from a very important concert, it's also ideal for collectors of obscure Madness items as I believe that this is the only time that Madness appear on a video disc.

The item is pretty large in size (approx 13" x 14") and the disc itself is housed in a hard plastic case with large picture labels. Video Discs were the US equivalent of the Japanese Laser Discs.

The item looks to me in excellent condition although I have no means of playing it! More photos at a higher res can be provided on request.

This item was only available for a couple of months in the early 1990s before being deleted. To obtain it you would generally have to place a special order at your local HMV / Virgin, it was not generally stocked on the shelf. Still sealed in its original sellophane! (The opened one in the picture is our own one). Small crack to the case on the back in the top left corner, easily replaced with a standard DCC case.

Filmed in 1989 and broadcast on ITV in March 1990 this is Suggs' first acting role. He appears in the 9th episode as a pop star called Jason Wood who has a dislike of journalists ...clearly Suggsy's acting skills were really put to the test on this role!

Extremely rare on VHS video as was released at a time when HMV and Virgin decided to discontinue VHS in favour of DVD. Consequently was deleted shortly after release. We had to specially order this copy from HMV Oxford Circus, London in 2003 at a price of £17.99...here's your chance pick up a real bargain! We lent the badges that feature in the artwork on the back of the case, you'd have thought the BBC would have given us a copy...we don't even get a credit! lol. Excellent condition.

The pinnacle of Madness's career to date. With House of Fun and Complete Madness having been at No.1 in the charts in preceding weeks, they headlined this event for Prince Charles at London's Dominion Theatre on 21st July 1982. Very rare early fan club only recording. The 'Radio Players' 30 minutes of culture. Has never been released anywhere else and owing to its unique artwork drawn by Suggs, its unique content and its rarity, has become one of the most collectable Madness cassettes that there is. Excellent condition.

We have monitored the sale of virtually every Madness item to have been listed on Ebay Worldwide for the past 12 years. Not one of these impossibly rare fan club cassettes has ever previously come up for sale. 

A collection of 27 live tracks recorded at a variety of gigs between 1980 and 1985 and released as this live tape available to Fan Club members only towards the tail end of their 1980s career.

Condition is good except that the spine on the inlay is a bit stained (see photo).
